wb 8th June
It has been another busy and productive week of learning across the curriculum!
In English, we started our exciting new class novel, Farther. We have been making predictions about the main character using sentence stems to support our ideas, sequencing the story so far, and writing postcards in role to help us understand the characters and events.
In Maths, our Year 4 children have been busy completing their Multiplication Tables Check. We are incredibly proud of the effort, determination, and resilience they have shown throughout. Well done, Year 4!
Year 3 pupils are continuing to practice their times tables. Keep up the hard work – it will be your turn next year, and all of this practice will help you feel confident and prepared.
In RE, we researched and learnt about our four house saints: St Edmund Campion, St John Fisher, St Thomas More and St Oliver Plunkett. We explored how each of these saints acted as witnesses to Jesus through their faith, courage and commitment to their beliefs.
In Science, we planned an investigation to test how muscles become fatigued. We discussed variables, made predictions, and thought carefully about how to carry out a fair test.
In Geography, we learnt about responsible trade and how it helps to protect farmers' rights. We explored the positive impact fair, and ethical trading can have on farmers' livelihoods and communities around the world.
In PE, we continued our time trials in preparation for Sports Day. The children showed great determination and enthusiasm as they worked on improving their performances.
In Reading, we continued to develop our comprehension skills by answering practice test questions in preparation for our end-of-year assessments, which will take place in a few weeks' time. The children have been working hard to justify their answers using evidence from the text and are growing in confidence each week.
A fantastic week all round! The children should be very proud of their hard work, positive attitudes, and commitment to their learning. Well done, Lower Junior 2!
