WB 15th June
Another fantastic week of learning in UJ2!
In English, we began our new class book, The Strange Case of Origami Yoda by Tom Angleberger. The children enjoyed exploring the story and debating the big question: Can Origami Yoda really predict the future? They shared thoughtful ideas and took part in some lively and engaging discussions.
The children then followed oral instructions to create their own Origami Yodas. They showed great listening skills and perseverance, producing some fantastic creations. Building on this, they went on to write their own sets of origami instructions, creating clear and detailed guides alongside their impressive specimens.
In RE, we learned about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. The children reflected on how these gifts can be used in everyday life and were able to identify examples from their own experiences. They demonstrated a strong understanding of how the Gifts of the Holy Spirit can guide our actions and help us make positive choices.
In ICT, we started our learning about binary coding. The children have shown great enthusiasm and curiosity as they begin to understand how computers use binary code to store and process information. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they explore this new concept.
We ended the week with Sports Day, where the children had an absolutely amazing time. They thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine, embraced the competitive spirit, and showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the day. We were incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, determination, and support for one another.
Well done, UJ2, for another fantastic week of learning and achievement. We can't wait to see what exciting learning awaits us next week!
