wb 22nd June
What a week it has been!
Following the incredibly hot weather, I am so proud of how the children in Lower Junior 2 demonstrated resilience, persistence, and teamwork throughout some very long and challenging days at school.
Despite the high temperatures, they continued to approach their learning with enthusiasm and determination, showing wonderful support for each other.
In English, we planned and wrote our own stories inspired by the book Father, innovating and adapting ideas from the text to create imaginative narratives.
In Maths, Year 4 have been learning about statistics, while Year 3 have been focusing on shape, exploring different line types, 2D and 3D shapes, and angles.
In Science, we learnt how to record and present data using bar charts following our muscle fatigue investigation from last week.
In Geography, we explored the journey that food and drink make across the world before arriving in our shops and supermarkets, using packaging that the children brought in from home to investigate where products originate.
In RE, we focused on the story of Moses and the Burning Bush, considering how Moses listened to God and followed the mission he was given.
In PSHE, we re-visited the Zones of Regulation, identifying the different emotions associated with each zone and discussing strategies we can use to help regulate our emotions.
Earlier in the week, when temperatures were cooler, the children also completed their Reading Comprehension Test with great focus and effort.
Well done, LJ2. Your hard work, positivity, and perseverance this week has been simply amazing!
