Learning and loving on our journey with Jesus

WB 4th May

Week 4

Evacuees, incoming and reflected rays, coordinates, the Resurrection and so much more have been the order of the week here in UJ3.

In RE, this week the children have looked in more depth at Thomas doubting Jesus after the Resurrection, reading the scripture to understand how the act of doubting can affect our lives today and how we should begin to believe without the need for proof.

Science involved an afternoon looking at incoming rays of light and how they are reflected through a mirror, giving an equal angle on both sides.

There has also been superb writing in English this week as we get our teeth into The Tempest. The children have enjoyed being “The Players”, performing the playscript admirably and writing about how those characters must have felt in the thunderous storm that was conjured up by the spirit Ariel.

Year 6 Maths has moved onto translation, moving a shape across a grid and ensuring that it still looks the same when translated, which has been somewhat of a challenge.

Finally, we wish Year 6 a restful weekend before their long-awaited SATs tests next week - and, of course, a wonderful weekend for my Year 5’s too.

See you all on Monday morning.
