Hot, Hot, Hot!

What a week! The children have coped so well in the extreme heat and have worked incredibly hard during our morning lessons.

We have begun reading our new book, The Strange Case of Origami Yoda, exploring how Yoda gives advice and deciding whether his advice is genuine and helpful or not.

In Year 6 Maths, we have continued learning about negative numbers and have started converting units of measurement.

Year 6 have also continued to practise for their end-of-year performance, and we are all looking forward to seeing it come together.

In RE, the children discovered the events of Confirmation this week, creating wonderful double-page spreads to showcase their learning and understanding.

We have continued to explore energy sources in Geography. This week, we looked at energy consumption in the UK and around the world, discovering that the UK generates a significant proportion of its electricity from wind power.

Thank you, children for coping with the heat this week and trying your best to carry on with lessons – interrupted only for Freeze Pops and a water sprinkling!!
