Pentecost 2
We hope you all enjoyed some of the beautiful sunshine over the May half-term break, although it was a shame to return to school with rain to greet us! Despite it being a slightly shorter week, Lower Junior 2 have packed in lots of learning.
In English, we finished reading How to Live Forever and began planning and writing a prequel, imagining how the Ancient Child came to be before the events of the story.
In Maths, our Year 4 children have been busy preparing for their Multiplication Tables Check, and I have been incredibly impressed with their dedication and positive attitude. The Year 3 children have also been working hard on telling and reading the time and are making good progress with this tricky concept.
In Geography, we started our new topic, Where Does Our Food Come From? We discussed how dairy products, meat and bread are produced and explored some of the negative impacts food production can have on the environment.
In RE, we began our new topic on Pentecost. The children retold the story in their own words by writing newspaper articles and created some beautiful artwork inspired by the events of Pentecost.
It has been a fantastic first week back, and I am so pleased with how hard the children have worked this year.
Their growth, confidence and progress since the start of the year are clear to see, and they should be very proud of all they have achieved.
