In addition to this, the children were able to craft concertina books, where they had the creative license to write their own stories in a genre of their choice. We had a range of books, including a look into the life of footballer, Zinedine Zidane by David Dumanic and a14-page book on 'Fun facts about animals' by Megan Nopal and Zoey Nash. Comics and exciting fiction stories were also a hit, with titles like "How to Live Forever" by Samarpan Chatterjee and "The Mysterious Teacher" by Tommy Alexandre.'
Other Faith and Culture Week
St Mary's have enjoyed completing their other faith and culture work on Islam. We were able to focus on so many different aspects of the Islamic faith including prayer, customs, Islamic art, pilgrimages and Ramadan.
We have also had many children who have enhanced our learning in each class by being able to talk about their faith. This was a wonderful end to the year!
Sports Day 2023
We celebrated Mary and her devotion during a special St Mary's liturgy.
Father Liam spoke about Mary and we were able to visit Mary's grotto for some quiet prayer and reflection.
