Diversity Workshops
On Friday 15th March, the Upper Juniors enjoyed a diversity day!
The children were able to bring in items which reflected their own cultural heritage and diversity.
Dr Simon Uttley, headteacher of Blessed Hugh Faringdon Catholic School in Reading, led an informative assembly about discrimination.
We were also delighted that Sylvia Stevenson (a diversity practitioner and consultant) and Bridgette Hurd-Rhooms (a secondary teacher) led some classroom 'Inclusion for all' workshops with the children with the aim of promoting equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) at St Mary's.
The talks were thought-provoking and inspiring and gave ample opportunity to reflect and discuss experiences and interactions with each other.
