Week beginning 13th January
This week we have used our letter writing skills to write both formal and informal letters in role as Mary Jackson and Katherine Johnson from our class book 'Hidden Figures.' We have given our opinions about why these women should be remembered and will use these to write an opinion article next week. We have read and explored the prologue of 'Cogheart' and used our reading skills to gather evidence. In RE we completed our Christmas topic by comparing Jesus' flight to Egypt with the plight of refugees today. In our Science topic 'Evolution and inheritance' we explored variation in a species and discussed whether these variations are inherited or environmental. In Maths, year 6 have completed their unit on Algebra and used equations to solve 2step problems.
