P.E
In P.E we are working on our ball control. We moved the ball up and down our bodies using two hands and then one. We also worked as pairs to move the ball around each others bodies, working hard to control it and not drop it.
DT
We are making a chair for baby bear. First we experimented with which shape would be best for making the legs because we need our chair to be stable. We discovered that cylindrical shapes are best and started to design our chair using this knowledge. Then we started to construct our chairs and will continue these next week.
Science
In science we are looking the life cycle of animals, including humans. This week we looked at the life cycles of frogs, butterflies and chickens (amongst others) and how their cycle repeats over and over again. In perfect timing, reception had five ducklings hatch yesterday and today so we took a trip down to see them. We looked at the egg shells they had recently hatched from and were so surprised that they’d been able to fit inside! We also had a cuddle which was the best part. We know that all babies grow and change and we are looking forward to seeing the growth in the ducks next week.
Maths
In Maths we are looking at mass. Today we learnt about grams as a unit of measure. We had lots of fun experimenting with the scales and were tasked with finding an object that was equal to 200g. Some of our objects were far too heavy and some were too light. The closest object equal in mass to 200g was the ear defenders.
Computing
We are looking at programming. We worked together to give instructions to the van and move it safely along the course.
