WB 1st June
We have had a great first week back after half term.
In English, we created and wrote an additional scene for Act 5 of The Tempest by William Shakespeare. The children were incredibly inspired and used Shakespearean language effectively. They then performed their playscripts and proved to be fantastic actors, bringing their characters to life with great confidence and enthusiasm. Well done, everyone!
In Science, we learned about space blankets and discussed what we need to do to ensure a fair test.
In RE, we began our learning about Pentecost. The children explored the story of Pentecost and learned about the announcement and coming of the Holy Spirit.
In PE, we timed our performances as we prepared for Sports Day. The children showed great determination and enthusiasm. Poor Tilly found herself in the middle of the action while replacing a cone, with runners racing around her! She spent much of the time trying to keep out of their way and hide her face as they sped past.
Next week, Year 6 will be away on their residential trip. We hope they have a wonderful time, enjoy good weather, and make the most of all the exciting activities planned for them. Year 5, we look forward to hearing all about your adventures!
