wb 18th May
This week in English, we continued reading our class book How to Live Forever and focused on writing setting and character descriptions using effective and imaginative language.
In RE, following on from the story of the Ascension, we explored the concept of Heaven and shared our own ideas about what we think it might look like by creating our own versions. As May is the month of Mary, we also spent time writing prayers to Mary and had the special opportunity to read them aloud in Mary’s Grotto.
In Reading, we finished our book about Africa and the children have learnt many fascinating facts about this amazing continent.
In Geography, we completed our rainforest topic by comparing temperate and tropical climates and their temperatures.
In Science, we completed our unit on plants by learning about seed dispersal and why it is so important in our world.
The week ended with Break the Rules Day, much to the children’s delight!
It has been a busy but enjoyable half term and we are looking forward to our final half term together.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable half term break.
