Week 6 9.2.26
Year 1 maths- we have been measuring length and height-using centimetres and rulers! We loved making different length snakes and measuring things around the classroom.
English
To wrap up our book about The Great Fire of London, we made our very own Tudor houses. We thought carefully about decorating them with beams and straw to make them look authentic. We then set them alight.
Mental Health Awareness Week. 💛
Throughout the week, we talked about the importance of looking after our minds as well as our bodies. The children enjoyed a range of exciting break-time activities, including dancing sessions and different sporting activities, which helped us think about how movement and fresh air can boost our mood and wellbeing.
In class, we also completed thoughtful “This Is Me” maps. The children explored where they feel safe, who helps them feel happy and supported, and what makes them unique. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate individuality while recognising the importance of feeling safe, valued and cared for in our school community.
