P.E
Our new topic in P.E is Dance: The Zoo. Today, we thought about which animals we might see at the zoo and tried hard to move like them. We explored big, slow movements and small, quick movements. We also thought about animal facial expressions we could use later on to make our animal dance expressive.
Geography
Lesson 1 of Geography this term was, 'Where in the world are we?' We looked at Google Earth and found the UK. We then found Maidenhead and zoomed in until we found St Mary's. Google Earth gives us an aerial view of our surroundings and we talked about what this meant. We could see lots of features from the, 'bird's eye view,' of our local area and we then worked together to place the correct symbols on our own copy of our immediate area.
Music
This term in Music, we are looking at tempo. We learnt about snail (who moves very slowly) and mouse (who scurries around quickly). After listening to two pieces of music and hearing the difference in tempo, we had a go at expressing it with our bodies.
Science
Our focus in Science this term is seasonal changes. First, we recapped the months of the year and which months fall in which season. We then discussed the four seasons in more detail and the weather we experience in each one. Together, we made a seasonal mobile showing the weather we have within them.
