WB 6th October
English
This week are are looking closely at instructions. Today we followed instructions in order to play a reading game in pairs. Next, we looked over the instructions and tried hard to find the bossy verbs and time words.
Think about what instructions you might see at home (Lego, a recipe, a set of old furniture instructions etc). Can you find any time words or bossy verbs in them?
P.E
This week in P.E we looked at making circles in various ways with our bodies. First we made large circles in the air with our arms before seeing if we could turn ourselves in a circle using only one foot to move us around. The biggest challenge was spinning in a full circle from a starting point by way of jumping.
Have a practice at home, can you do a full 360 degrees and land back in the same starting position?
Science
This week we learnt about deciduous and evergreen trees. What a perfect time to learn because all the leaves of the trees in the playground are changing colour and falling off! We headed out on a leaf hunt to identify different leaves from different trees before bringing them in to observe. We looked at the colours and then measured them to compare sizes.
What deciduous trees can you see when you’re out and about?
Can you see any evergreen trees anywhere?
