This week in Upper Juniors we have been preparing for Remembrance Day by reading and annotating the features of war poetry. We then wrote our own commemorative war poems using figurative language techniques such as similes, metaphors and personification.

In Maths, year 6 have completed the first of our fractions units which finished with problem solving by adding and subtracting mixed number fractions.

In Science our topic this half term is 'Properties and Changes of Materials' and we began by investigating the hardness of various materials by seeing how easy it was to scratch them.

In Music we are learning about Musical Theatre this term and so we have been learning about the history of the musical and been inspired by listening to various examples.
