WB 3rd November
This week in UJ2, we have been reflecting on Remembrance Day by writing our own war poems version to honour the soldiers who bravely defended our country. The children were deeply inspired by In Flanders Fields and demonstrated great emotion and creativity in their writing.
In Maths, Year 6 pupils have been learning to add and subtract fractions with different denominators. They strengthened their understanding by finding common multiples and factors, and used manipulatives to help them visualise and understand fractions.
In Geography, we began our new topic on the Alps. The children enjoyed locating this famous mountain range on maps of Europe and exploring how longitude and latitude help us pinpoint locations accurately.
In Science, we started a new topic: Materials: Properties and Changes. The children have been evaluating a hardness test to determine how reliable the results are, developing their skills in working scientifically.
Our PE lessons have been full of energy and fun as the children explored dance, developing rhythm, coordination, and teamwork through creative movement.
It’s been a wonderful week of learning, curiosity, and enthusiasm — well done, UJ2! 🌟
