WB 2nd February
On Monday, we started working on our new English book Freedom Bird by Jerdine Nolen. The children have been learning about freedom, why it is important, and whether it is a need or a right. They wrote beautiful figurative language sentences to describe their ideas.
On Tuesday, we continued reading The Lighthouse and answered comprehension questions, further developing our understanding of the text.
On Wednesday, the children went on an exciting journey to London to explore the Science Museum. They had a fantastic time discovering how the solar system works and learning about what exists in space, linking perfectly with our science topic.
In Maths, Year 6 are continuing their learning about percentages and are deepening their knowledge through problem-solving and practice.
On Friday, we ended the week in our usual way with a relaxing and enjoyable swimming session.
Next week, we will be celebrating Wellbeing Week. A range of lunchtime activities will be offered to the children, including football drills, Keep Fit sessions, cone target activities, and dance club, all designed to promote physical activity and wellbeing.
