What a Fantastic Week in UJ2!

UJ2 have had another very busy and exciting week, filled with learning, creativity and wonderful experiences!

In English, we took part in the 500 Words writing challenge. The children used their fantastic imaginations to create their own stories, and it was wonderful to see how inspired they were by the books they have been reading. Their creativity and enthusiasm really shone through, and it was clear just how much their reading is influencing and enriching their writing.

In RE, we learnt about The Greatest Commandment and explored how we can connect this teaching to our Catholic Social Teaching (CST) and our everyday lives. The children shared thoughtful ideas about what it means to love our neighbours and discussed the positive impact that kindness, compassion and love can have on the people around us and on our own lives.

In Maths, we have begun learning about long multiplication and long division. The children have been exploring different strategies and methods, including using factors to help them multiply and divide more efficiently. They have worked hard to develop their understanding and are becoming increasingly confident when tackling these more challenging calculations.

We were also incredibly lucky to have a fantastic trip to Eton College. The children had the opportunity to explore the museum and were fascinated by the incredible collections on display. They were particularly intrigued by the collection of preserved animals and enjoyed discovering lots of interesting facts and information during their visit. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn outside the classroom and experience something new.

On Friday, we celebrated Poetry Day! The children shared a poem with the whole school that they had practised, and they were absolutely fabulous. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they performed and shared their love of poetry with one another.
