Another Fantastic Week in Upper Junior 2!

We have had another fantastic week in Upper Junior 2, filled with lots of exciting learning and wonderful opportunities for the children to develop their skills.

 English
This week, we have been learning all about persuasive writing. The children have been writing persuasive letters to the Headteacher, putting forward ideas and using a range of persuasive techniques to convince her of their point of view. We then took our learning one step further by writing persuasive letters to the Tromsø Arctic Institute, trying to convince them to fund an expedition to the Arctic in search of Miso! The children have been incredibly creative and have produced some superb-quality letters, making excellent use of the features of persuasive writing they have learned.

 Science
In Science, we have been exploring the life cycle of birds. We compared the different stages of a bird's life cycle with that of mammals, identifying both the similarities and differences. The children have learned lots of fascinating facts and have enjoyed discovering how different animals grow and develop.

 PE
In PE, we have been developing our skills in Kin-Ball. The children have been learning new techniques, working as a team and putting their communication skills into practice. Most importantly, they have been having lots of fun and are really enjoying the sport!

 RE
In RE, we have been learning about the Ten Commandments. The children explored the meaning behind the commandments and thought carefully about why rules are important. They then created their own set of rules inspired by the Ten Commandments and explained the reasons behind their choices. It has been wonderful to see them thinking so thoughtfully about how rules can help us to live and work together.

It has been another amazing week, and I am incredibly proud of the children's hard work, creativity and enthusiasm. I can't wait to see more of their fabulous work and fantastic learning next week!
