LJ2 Weekly Learning Update

What a fantastic week it has been in LJ2!

English:
This week, the children have been busy planning and writing their very own 500-word stories to enter into the BBC’s 500 Words competition. We’ve been so impressed by the creativity and imagination on display — some truly wonderful stories have been written!

Maths:
In Maths, we have been learning how to use the bar model effectively to solve addition and subtraction problems. The children have worked hard to represent problems visually and explain their thinking clearly.

RE:
Our focus in RE has been the Catholic Social Teaching principle: Option for the Poor. We explored ways we can help others and make a difference in our community. The children wrote thoughtful letters to those who can help — including our parish church, the local council, and the school governors.

Science:
In science, we learned about the Eatwell Plate and how eating a balanced diet supports a healthy lifestyle. The class enjoyed discussing different food groups and how to make healthy choices.

PE:
This week in PE, the children showcased some amazing gymnastic routines, demonstrating the skills they’ve developed over the term. Their confidence, balance, and teamwork were brilliant to see!

Well done, LJ2, on a fantastic first half term. You’ve worked incredibly hard — enjoy a well-earned rest, and I look forward to seeing you all after the break!
