WB 1st December
What a fantastic week of learning it has been in Lower Junior 2!
In English, the children proudly finished their wonderful fantasy stories inspired by the brilliant Roald Dahl. Their creativity and effort throughout this unit have been great! We also began our new book The Lion and the Unicorn, focusing on how to use dialogue effectively and accurately when characters are speaking.
In Maths, we wrapped up our work on multiplication and division. The children have worked very hard—please continue to practice times tables at home to keep those skills sharp!
In Science, we learned all about the famous palaeontologist, Mary Anning. The children were fascinated by her discoveries and even created their own fossil drawings.
In R.E., we explored what it might have been like to be a prophet, discussing the challenges they faced. The children also wrote beautiful poems about the Messiah, showing great thought and reflection.
In PSHE, we discussed the influence of the media, including how adverts can shape our thinking and don’t always show the full truth. The children contributed thoughtfully to a very interesting class discussion.
In D.T., the class designed a sale display and packaging for a product—there were some wonderfully imaginative ideas!
And of course, the highlight of the week was our visit to the Secret Santa Workshop, where the children spent their money wisely and had a magical experience!
It has been a truly great week filled with learning, creativity and enjoyment!
Thank you for your continued support!
