This week in English, we have been developing our writing skills by creating our own stories based on the central character, 'Spring’s Daughter'. The children used conjunctions, direct speech and prepositional phrases to enhance their writing, and they also applied editing skills to improve their work. In Maths, Year 4 have been learning about perimeter and how it is calculated. In Science, we explored reflection and investigated what makes objects more or less reflective. Pupils enjoyed pulling funny faces to see their own reflections! In RE, we began our new topic on Revelation, studying the scripture of Jesus being presented in the temple. We discussed how this story can be represented through darkness and light, with Jesus as the light of the world, and reflected on how Simeon felt when he met the light of the world. In PE, we continued to develop our netball skills, focusing on effective throwing and movement. In Computing, we used a music program to investigate how different songs can be combined to create a musical piece. It has been a busy and fun-filled week for LJ2!
