Learning and loving on our journey with Jesus

wb 12th Jan

This week in pictures...

This week has been full of exciting learning across the curriculum...

In English, we finished reading The Winter’s Child and used it as inspiration to plan and write our own stories about The Spring’s Child. The children showed excellent imagination and a strong use of vocabulary and language features.

In Maths, we continued our work on division, developing our understanding of the relationship between multiplication and division. We also practised written division using the part–whole method to help us tackle larger numbers.

In RE, we concluded our Christmas topic by researching Pope John Paul II and exploring how we can spread the Good News of Jesus to people around the world.

In PE, we explored the technique of canon, working with a partner to practise and create our own movement sequences.

In Science, we began our new topic on light, learning about different light sources and identifying which are natural and which are artificial. We also had an interesting discussion about how and why the Moon appears in the night sky.

In History, we launched our topic on the Romans, discussing their impressive buildings and marvelling at how many remain partially intact in Rome today — the Romans certainly were a clever bunch!

Well done, LJ2, and keep practising those times tables! 👏
