WB 3rd February
We have enjoyed Mental Health Week across the school. In Upper Juniors we have looked at how our mental health varies during the course of a week and how the choices we make (in terms of diet, sleep, screen time etc) may affect how we feel. We also explored ways in which we might look after our mental health. This is a very individual process as we have different ways which relax us and make us feel good. We created personal posters linked to how we find our best mental health. In addition to this we tried to carry out tasks from a kindness calendar and produced a display with positive affirmations that we can look at and remember at all times, especially if we feel sad.
In English we have started a new book about the suffragettes. we started by creating rules that only applied to men! We then wrote letters to the prime minister to try allow women to vote.
In maths, we have studied how to change fractions to decimals and percentages.
During history, we were able to complete independent research into the main Greek philosophers and their impact on society nowadays.
In RE, we have read the parable of the 'Sower and the seed' and explained its meaning and written letters about the impact of baptism on our lives.
