What a fantastic final week before half term!
UJ2 have had a fabulous week and have worked incredibly hard across all subjects. It was Wellbeing Week and Internet Safety Week, and the children had the opportunity to attend a range of engaging workshops and assemblies. They produced some beautiful work reflecting on what it means to belong and how we can help others feel included. They also enjoyed a variety of lunchtime activities organised by the teachers.
In English, the children wrote thoughtful poems inspired by Freedom Bird, focusing on the theme of escape from the perspective of the children in the story. Their creativity and use of descriptive language were wonderful to see.
In Science, we learned about sundials and explored how people in the past used them to tell the time.
In Maths, the children have been learning about decimals, fractions and percentages. They practised converting between them, ordering them, and finding percentages of amounts with increasing confidence.
In RE, we learned about Hinduism, focusing on the belief in reincarnation. The children used the correct vocabulary to explain the cycle of life and the key concepts within Hindu beliefs.
Well done, UJ2, for all your hard work this half term. I am so proud of everything you have achieved! I can’t wait to see you all after the break for more exciting learning.
