WB 8th December
The Penultimate Week of the Autumn Term
UJ3 have enjoyed a wonderful range of lessons this week. In Science, we observed irreversible changes, witnessing how different materials burned and the variety of coloured flames produced. The children considered whether the final state of each material after burning could be reversed. We experienced the sweet smell of toasting marshmallows, the surprising purple flame of a banana, and the shrinking of a crisp packet.
Speed and accuracy were the focus in PE as we took our netball skills up a level. The children became more confident in their positions on the court and were delighted to see the Goal Shooters scoring.
As we continue through our Advent term, we have explored the signs and symbols of Advent. The children created beautiful leaflets explaining their importance, complete with thoughtful illustrations. Our colourful baubles still hang on the Jesse Tree and are read daily by the authors. We have also heard some truly lovely prayers about preparing for the coming of Jesus at Christmastime - thank you, children, for your thoughtful words.
Our Prayer Bag has been going home each day, and once again the children are writing beautiful prayers that we share during worship.
Here’s to the final week - a busy one ahead with concerts, Christmas jumper day, lunches served by Year 6, and a school Mass on Friday before we begin a well-earned rest over the seasonal holidays.
