Learning and loving on our journey with Jesus

WB 10th November

Friendship Week came to a close with the children sharing their thoughts on friendship and displaying our class piece of artwork on this important theme. Friends can be a hugely important part of school life - for some, the very best part! As we reflect on another busy week in Upper Junior 3, let us remember those friends who mean so much to us, both here in school and at home.

This week, the children have immersed themselves in some creative writing about Happiness in Nature for the Rotary Young Writer Competition. They explored where they feel happiest in nature and built exciting narratives around those places, featuring some wonderful characters - both human and animal.

In PE, the class has excelled in developing their netball skills, showing how to chest pass the ball quickly to teammates and beginning to master the bounce pass.

Our Geography topic is The Alps, and this week we revisited the location of the mountain range and the eight countries it runs through, before exploring both the human and physical features of the area.

On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have the charity Prison! Me! No Way! visit our school to talk about life behind bars, antisocial behaviour, and the importance of staying safe around railway tracks. The children were very engaged, asking thoughtful questions - and they even had a look inside a mock prison cell!

Well done, UJ3 - you are working so hard and making fantastic progress! 🌟
