    Another Great Week in UJ2!

What another fantastic week of learning in UJ2! The children have continued to work hard, develop their skills and embrace new challenges across the curriculum.

In English, the children had the opportunity to write a narrative passage inspired by the character they have been exploring in their English book. They worked hard to develop their ideas, create engaging descriptions and use adverbs to add detail to their writing and bring their stories to life. Well done to everyone for their creativity and effort!

In Year 6 Maths, we began our new topic on fractions. The children explored equivalent fractions and learnt how to simplify fractions, developing their understanding of how different fractions can represent the same value. They practised their skills, explained their mathematical thinking and built confidence when solving problems.

In Science, we completed our topic on life cycles by exploring asexual reproduction in plants. The children learnt how some plants can reproduce without seeds or fertilisation, producing new plants from a single parent. We explored examples of asexual reproduction, including how plants can grow from runners, bulbs and tubers, and discussed how this process allows new plants to develop. It was a fantastic way to conclude our topic on life cycles!

In RE, we explored the importance of virtues and how they can influence the way we live our lives. The children reflected on how positive qualities can guide our choices, shape our relationships and help us become thoughtful and responsible members of our community. We discussed how putting these virtues into practice can contribute to a happier and more meaningful life.

In Reading, We continued our exciting journey through Beetle Boy, reading Chapter 12 and developing our comprehension skills. The children answered a range of questions about the chapter, using their understanding of the text to retrieve information, explore events and think more deeply about the story.

In PE, we enjoyed our final lesson on Kin-Ball! The children had the opportunity to put their skills into practice through fun and engaging team activities. They developed their teamwork, communication, coordination and cooperation while learning how to work together to keep the ball in play. It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, supporting one another and demonstrating great sportsmanship.
