Learning and loving on our journey with Jesus

WB 9th March

We had a very busy and exciting week in UJ2.

We were delighted to learn that UJ2 won the reading competition. All of their hard work and dedication to reading really paid off. Well done, UJ2 – you should be very proud of yourselves!

It was also Science Week, which brought many exciting opportunities for the children. They visited Cox Green to attend a Harry Potter-themed experiments workshop. The children had so much fun making potions and wands, creating invisible writing, and they even received a small treat at the end of the workshop. They absolutely loved the experience.

On Wednesday, we carried out a fantastic pancake experiment, investigating fairness in testing by flipping pancakes into the air and calculating the distance and speed. The children also enjoyed learning about viscosity, experimenting with different liquids to understand what it is and exploring which elements can change it. They asked some excellent scientific questions throughout the investigations.

The children also took part in a reconciliation service, where they had the opportunity to reflect and think about how we can use the season of Lent to consider our actions and find ways to help others.

On Thursday, we were very lucky to welcome a visit from our local MP, Josh Reynolds. The children enjoyed listening to him talk about his work and learning more about what it means to be a politician.

It was also assessment week, and the children really impressed me with their resilience and hard work. As always, we finished the week with swimming.

Fabulous work, UJ2!
