In Phonics this week, we have learnt the sounds ck, e, u and r and have practised writing them during our handwriting lessons. We practised identifying the sounds we learnt last week in our literacy area by spotting the sound and either placing the correct colour cube on it, or colouring it in the correct colour. In RE, we recapped the story of creation and spoke about how we can look after God's creation.

In drawing club, we read the story 'Mr Benn the Zookeeper'. On Monday, we drew Mr Benn dressed as a Zookeeper. On Tuesday we drew Mr Benn's house. On Friday, we created a new animal which we made by merging at least two animals together, for example: a pengig - which was a penguin mixed with a pig. Each day, we wrote a magic letter and a magic number on our drawings. These letters and numbers activated magic powers on our drawings – such as making Mr Benn be able to tap dance.

In continuous provision, we drew things related to Mr Benn and his role as a zookeeper. In the role-play area, we ran the costume shop and tried different costumes to take on different roles. In the small world area, we had a zoo and zoo animals and people to visit the zoo.

In Science, we learnt about the weather and how it changes. In Music, we listened to different sounds we would hear in nature and made those sounds.

In Maths, we have been learning about the composition of numbers - how they are made up. We also learnt one more and one less of numbers. In continuous provision we practised the skills we had learnt.

In PE, we used different equipment with a partner and worked together to pass it to each other safely using different methods.
