In Phonics this week, we have learnt the sounds i, n, m and d, and have practised writing them during our handwriting lessons. We practised identifying the sounds we learnt last week in our literacy area by spotting the sound and either placing the correct colour cube on it, or colouring it in the correct colour. In RE, we recapped the story of creation and in the literacy area, we sequenced the story of creation using pictures.

In drawing club, we read the story 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. On Monday, we drew Goldilocks. On Tuesday we drew Goldilocks' house. On Thursday, we drew a special bowl for baby bear with a fun pattern. On Friday, we drew a map to help the bears find Goldilocks. We sequenced the story of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' during our choosing time. Each day, we wrote a magic letter and a magic number on our drawings. These letters and numbers activated magic powers on our drawings – such as making the bowl 100x bigger, turning
Goldilocks' house into sweets and making buildings on our maps grow legs.

We have done lots of fun activities linked to the story, such as practising capacity by filling containers and bowls with porridge. We gave Goldilocks long blonde hair by cutting and sticking yellow paper to her head. We re-told the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears in our role-play area using three bears and different sized bowls. In our Maths area, we cut out different objects and stuck them under the correct bear - deciding which size object would suit who. We used playdough to make different sized bowls and to give the three bears the correct sized ears. We ordered bears in order from smallest to largest, and largest to smallest. We used paint and sequins to decorate bowls.

In Science, we learnt about the seasonal changes in Autumn. In Music, we took turns with our partner to play musical instruments and sung along to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

In Maths, we have been learning about numbers. We practised counting to 20, counting objects up to 10 and choosing the correct digit for the quantity. In continuous provision, we practised our counting skills and practised number formation up to 10.

In PE, we used different equipment with a partner and worked together to pass it to each other safely.
