Learning and loving on our journey with Jesus

wb 2nd Mar

This week the children have been very busy across the curriculum and have shown great enthusiasm for their learning.

In English, we have been developing our descriptive writing skills, focusing on writing detailed character and setting descriptions. The children worked hard to use exciting vocabulary and imaginative ideas to bring their writing to life.

In Computing, we continued learning how to use the programme Scratch, where the children explored how to programme different sprites. They enjoyed experimenting with commands and seeing how their coding could make the characters move and interact on the screen.

In RE, we reflected on scripture to understand that Christians are called to do good things for others without expecting a reward and to pray humbly without showing off. The children shared some thoughtful ideas about how they can live this message out in their own lives.

In History, the children got very creative while learning about Anglo-Saxon life. They had great fun making their own wattle and daub, using hay and clay just as people did in Anglo-Saxon times, which helped them understand how homes were built in the past.

We also had a wonderful Book Week at school. The children loved taking part in reading buddies, Get Cosy and Read, dressing up as their favourite characters, and joining an online author workshop. It was fantastic to see their excitement about books and stories, and we also spent time thinking about how authors can inspire us to write our own stories.

It has been a fantastic week of learning, creativity and reading enjoyment!
