Lent 2
It has been a busy but exciting first week back in LJ2!
In English, we have been using the picture book The Mysteries of Harris Burdock to inspire our writing. Since the book has no words, the children have been using their imaginations to predict what might have happened in the story, describe characters and write detailed descriptions. It’s been wonderful to see their creativity in action!
In Science, we began our new topic on Forces and Motion, exploring the different forces we use in everyday life and how they affect objects around us.
In RE, we started our Lent topic by learning about Jesus’ temptation and reflecting on ways we can resist temptation in our own lives, just as Jesus did.
In Computing, the children used Scratch to learn coding by setting commands and making their programs work step by step.
In PE, we began our Rounders unit, getting active and practising throwing, catching, and striking skills.
In History, we started our new topic on the Anglo-Saxons, learning about the people who came after the Romans to invade Britain and how they shaped life in the past.
It’s been a fantastic start to the term, and we are looking forward to another great term of learning!
