Some curriculum highlights of this week in LJ1:

Art - the children walked around the school site looking for natural objects with different pigmentation and used these to create patterns and shapes.

Spanish - the children focused on pronunciation this week, in particular the 'a' and 'o' vowels used within words.

English - the focus at the end of the week for English was the Big Write.  The children used all the writing skills they had learnt in the past two weeks and wrote their own script.  

History -  this week we focused on why children in the Tudor period had to work and what life was like for them.

Reading - the children are really enjoying our work around the class book, Zombierella.  This week they were using inference skills to make judgements about the characters in the story.

RE - the focus has been on the story of Creation and using it to reflect on how Christians can keep a 'holy day' as God did on the seventh day.
