    Good afternoon Families,

Here are some of the best bits of our week in Lower Junior 1:

English - this week, we concluded the study of the book 'The First Drawing' by Mordicai Gerstein.  This resulted in some lovely story mapping and retelling of the story.  Next week, we begin a fantastic new text.

Science - the children LOVED science this week as they made 'poo' in their study of the digestive system and how what we eat affects toileting habits.

RE - this week the children learned about treating everyone fairly and how this is linked to Fair Trade.  They linked this to their understanding of creation and how God made the world for everyone.

Art - thank you for the sponges that were sent in.  The children used these to create a natural 'cave' background, then used colours of nature to recreate the famous hand print cave art.  They enjoyed this thoroughly!

Computing - within 'Keyboard Skills', the children learnt about keyboard shortcuts that can be used in Microsoft Word.

Maths - the Year 3s continued with their learning around Addition and Subtraction while the Year 4s began a new unit towards the end of the week on Measurement.

    Have a great weekend.
