Learning and loving on our journey with Jesus

Week 5: 2.2.26

Drama workshop! Today we were lucky to have a drama specialist join us to take us on a toy adventure. With a little fairy dust and a lot of imagination we transformed into toys and went on a magical quest! Lots of giggles and fun along the way, this workshop really helped us build our imaginations and move our bodies in different ways!

Year 2 maths-we have been dividing by grouping and sharing! We enjoyed using counters to make sure our groups were equal and fair!

Our Class Book – The Great Fire of London

Our class book this term is The Great Fire of London by Emma Adams and James Weston Lewis. The story helps us understand what happened during the Great Fire of London in 1666 in a way that is exciting and easy to follow.

The Great Fire of London began in a bakery on Pudding Lane and quickly spread through the city, as most of the houses were made from wood and built very close together. The fire burned for four days and destroyed thousands of homes. Although much of London was damaged, the city was rebuilt stronger and safer afterwards.

We compared old London to modern day London.

Inspired by our learning, we wrote thank you and bravery certificates for the people who helped fight the fire. We recognised the courage of the firefighters of the time, local residents, and key historical figures who worked hard to stop the flames and rebuild the city. We are very proud of the thoughtful writing and historical understanding the children have shown!
