Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you are all well.
This week the children have been engaged in lots of different activities for book week.
All the children from Lower Junior 3 embraced the World Book Day with some amazing costumes. In addition the children were involved in reading with children from other year groups. Towards the end of the week the children had the opportunity to be part of a live interactive author session.
For Religious Education, the focus this week was what Jesus teaches us about fasting, prayer and almsgiving. The children really developed their understanding and produced some excellent work.
In English, the children were focusing on the planning stage for their forthcoming story. They have worked very hard and this will enable them to produce an excellent piece of independent work at the end of the unit.
In History the children are looking at Anglo Saxons; and how they developed their settlements. The children worked in small groups using various materials to produce a mini structure that would have been used in the building of Anglo Saxon homes.
As you will be able to see from the pictures, the children have had an excellent week, full of engaging learning activities to develop their knowledge and understanding in the different subjects.
Thank you for your continued support.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards,
Mr Mackintosh
