Dear Parents and Carers, 

 

It has been excellent week for the children with lots of learning across all curriculum areas. They have all worked hard to develop their knowledge and understanding in different topics.

 

The children have worked really well in English this week, focussing on their projects for the BBC 500 words competition and the National Poetry competition. They have produced some very imaginative stories and some excellent poems.  

 

In History the focus is currently on how children's lives have changed through history and specifically the Tudor and Victorian periods.  This week we delved deeper into the Victorian period and how Lord Shaftesbury made a positive impact on the lives of children then and how this has helped the future generations.  

 

The focus in Physical Education at the moment is developing teamwork skills in the team challenges unit.  The outdoor unit is focussing on peer feedback and technique development through foot golf. 

 

We had a fantastic end to the week with the National Poetry Day poem recital.  The children were amazing and I am very proud of their efforts in performing a poem to rest of the school.
