Learning and loving on our journey with Jesus

Advent 2

The whole school were able to join in a special Remembrance Day service. We heard all about the symbolism in Remembrance Day and lay our own class wreaths. We lit the special peace candle and immaculately observed a two minute silence. We were able to offer our own prayers for love and peace across the world as well as remembering the victims of war.

Father Ephraim was able to join Key Stage 2 in a special Reconciliation Service to mark the beginning of Advent. HE explained how we must be spiritually ready to receive Jesus at Christmas and how we must maintain friendships and seek forgiveness.

Reception and Year 6 were kindly invited to the Christmas Tree Festival at St Luke's Church. They were able to spend time looking at the beautiful trees, many of which were decorated by local charities and organisations. We were also able to write prayers for loved ones and special intentions. It was a wonderful occasion!

Key Stage 2 were able to join with the whole school community and the parish of St Joseph in celebrating Advent. The children sang beautifully and incorporated reflective readings and poems. Mary Voices choir showcased their talents in a wonderfully special evening at the church and during a school performance.
