Back to the Beginning…

What a wonderful start to the new term! Our first eight days have absolutely whizzed by, and the children have been fantastic. They have all settled back into school life beautifully and have already produced some wonderful work across the curriculum.

One of my highlights has been their fantastic artwork inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night. The children have embraced his distinctive style and have created some truly beautiful pieces in a variety of mediums.

We have also enjoyed exploring the delightful book The Fox and the Star. The children have had great fun creating their own versions of the story, changing the characters and settings and letting their imaginations run wild. It has been lovely to see their creativity and storytelling skills develop.

In RE, we have begun our new topic by exploring the covenants God made with specific people in the Bible. We have thought about what these covenants meant and made links to promises in our own lives, considering why promises are important and what it means to keep them.

PE has been a real highlight too! We have had lots of fun playing team games and competing against one another. There has been plenty of enthusiasm, determination and, of course, some very competitive moments!

We have certainly hit the ground running this year! Our new Year 5 children have been brilliant at rising to the demands of Upper Juniors, while our Year 6 children have made a smooth transition to a higher level of learning, independence and competence.

It has been a fantastic start, and we are so proud of how well everyone has settled in. We are looking forward to another busy and exciting week ahead.
