Week 5 and we're still busy!
Our week began with learning about the life cycles of insects in science and observing the growth of our bean plants. Many of them are growing well and producing lots of leaves and additional stems.
We are thoroughly enjoying our class text, Beetle Boy, and the story is becoming increasingly interesting, with plenty of humour along the way.
In RE, we have continued our discussions about the Commandments and how we can put them into action in our daily lives. The children have been thinking carefully about the effects of sin on others and how we can all play a part in making our community a good place to live.
Leila and the Fox, our English text, has generated much discussion this week as the children considered whether the main character, Leila, will follow her mother onto the ice in search of the fox. The children have written some fantastic narrative pieces as a sequel to Chapter 13, making predictions about "what happens next" and using the grammar technique of show, not tell to bring their writing to life.
Our week ended with Kin-Ball in PE, where the children continued to practise their catching skills and work together effectively as a team.
Enjoy the weekend! Perhaps you might find time for some autumn fun in the leaves or collecting conkers.
